I read some info that the W211 E55 snorkel tube that runs from the air filter box to the grill is smaller on the driver’s side than on the passenger side. The author stated that a larger tube (p/n# A 1130942182) could be ordered from a Mercedes dealer and for about $12 bucks, and that it would fit right in, allowing for less restrictive airflow, and therefore more power.

Has someone tried this mod, and if so, was there a difference?

Scroll down and theres a good, detailed post by Lysholm Master that explains the install. It doesn't just "fit right in," its actually a pretty tight fit, but with some muscle you can make it happen.

No difference,but for 12 bucks it doesnt hurt either.
