switched 12v for V-1 on a E63
I was wondering where the best place to pick up ign sense, I.E. switched 12v for my Valentine detector is.
I am not very familar with the e55 and not sure if the fuse box layout is similar. I could go with constant 12v, but the last time I did that, I always forgot to turn it off and evetually killed my battery one cold week.
I could just pick out a circuit in the fuse box, but just wanted to check with you all to see if one circuit is better than another. This car is not what I am accustomed to working on and I would hate to fry some thing.
Thanks

There is a switched 12v under the front console running into the cigarette lighter. Someone here posted a do-it-yourself which I followed and hardwired mine. It was quite easy and only took about an hour. I had done something similar on my M3 so it wasn't too bad. Sounds like you have experience. Do a search and you should find the DIY which works for the E63 as well.
