Vorsteiner to offer E55 products
Vorsteiner has offered superb carbon fiber body parts for the BMW market for years. I recently inquired whether they offered a vented, carbon fiber hood for the W211 E55. Their response:
>>>We are currently working on a full aero package for the E55 AMG models.
Products Coming:
-Vented Hood for supercharger cooling
-Front Add-On Carbon Spoiler
-Rear Add-On Carbon Diffuser
-Rear Deck Lid Carbon Spoiler
The production will commence sometime in March of 2007 as part of our
official entry into the Mercedes tuning market.
Regards,
VORSTEINER <<<
A vented hood for the E55 would be useful for heat management purposes. I personally can't wait to see their new offerings; I think they will be a very positive development for our savage, beastly cars. Their website is http://www.vorsteiner.com Check out their hood offerings for the current BMW M5 and M6.

The question I have is would this hood truly help with cooling. It had been discussed here many times if vented would help or hurt. The engine compartment is currently designed to take in air and shoot it under the car. The hood is gasketed for this.

ones too fast according to CHP!
This is true. We have commissioned Vorsteiner to finally make Mercedes goods. We have one of our customers cars there now.
The trunk decklid and rear diffuser are 90% done and look really awesome.
The hood is the next major issue. We have provided Vorsteiner with a stock hood for them to cut and start the design process.
We are all very excited about this and will post pics the SECOND it is appropriate!
Thanks
Brad

Brad,
When will we see a list of products? Will you/they be offering a rear diffuser? I'm still smarting from the B870/Eurorev fiasco, but I still want one as long as it doesn't look like the POS they tried to pawn off on me.

Finally! A bunch of my friends have vorsteiner products on their M3's and it is an awesome product. I tried to get them to make some clk parts but it was a no go. I think a M3 CSL style trunk would look amazing on a w208!
And one thing to keep in mind is the water that gets in through the vents (if you drive in the rain). I know they sell a cover for the vents for the BMWs.

FYI, there is no need for rain covers. You get water in the engine with or without the vents. I have had a vented hood on my street M3 for a long time in rain and snow with no issue.
Nearly all the cars you see for Vorsteiner's photo shoots (M3 cab, white M3 GTS, M6, M5) are evosport cars, BTW!
Thanks

I've tried this before and had my thread deleted because it wasnt through a sponsor. If you could post up in the W208 section I can refer everybody to the thread so it wont get locked. An estimated price would be nice too! And if it wasnt obvious, I would want it made out of c/f. I'm sure I can get 10 people on a c/f vented hood too so a price for that would be good too. Thanks!

If anyone is wondering why I posted the thread about hood design a couple weeks ago... you know the poll about how you'd like it: Brabus versus more advanced, etc... well, now you know who and what is was for.
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...ht=vented+hood
Double blind... little did you know it was precisely FOR this hood and Evosport.
The poll proved one thing: Half of us will pay for a really nice hood, half of us would be fine with regular Brabus gills... and most of us don't have much input at all design wise.
We just want to buy it. Well, 22 of us do...
