HRE wheel question
For those that have purchased HREs new, are the wheels supplied with standard tapered or ball tapered wheel bolts? The factory wheels use ball tapered bolts, but someone said HRE wheels don't use the factory style ball taper design. True of false?

mine are the other, cone I think?
HRE comes with chromed lug bolts though, and I got some regular ones that werent chromed

I am pretty sure they are standard taper...actually I never heard of ball tapered...whatever they are...they are correct for their wheels...why do you ask ??? I can go out and look but if I remember correctly they are the same as the ones from the factory... "edit"....they are a cone taper as the post above says.

I bought a used set of 19" 547s. They came without the lug bolts. I foolishly assumed they used the ball taper lug bolts that came with the car for the standard AMG double spoke wheels. Instead, as I realize now, the HREs use the conical taper, so I need to buy a set of M14x1.5x28mm taper lug nuts in order to swap out the factory ones I bolted the HREs on with. I can't believe I didn't inspect the bolt holes on the rims before mounting them. Totally ignorant of me. Thanks for verifying this.
