Pano roof - any problems or regrets?
Can't decide if I want Pano or not. I am leaning away from it because of what I heard about noises. Also, more movable parts on the roof means more chance for leaks I would guess. Anybody that got it wihs they did not? Anybody that didn't get it wish they did? Any opinions and comments are welcome to help me better assess this option.

I have not seen it in person and can't get good pics of it. How does it open, like a regular sunroof? Is it only the front section that moves and the rear is fixed? Any description or pics or links would be great. What is it that you feel is a must about it?

The pano is nice. Especially when contrasted with white or silver paint, excellent combo's. I seldom use mine, but when it's nice when I do.
Only the front section retracts, while the rear is fixed. But, everyone inside the cabin gets a big view of the sky when the interior shade is open.

The Pano roof looks best in White or Silver car since it brings out the contrast and make an excellent combo. I have a black car or else I will take a picture for you to see but it's best to see it in person at your local Benz dealer. Your rear passengers will enjoy it to the max since they are able to see the sky while they enjoy the rush acceleration.

I don't have one and I am glad I didn't get it. They are nice, but I like the sliding panel remaining under the roof panel when the sunroof is open. Also, here in TX, the pano roof would add a lot of heat in the summer.

Love it, have no probs and live in the hot Cali climate. I also got the solar panels which cool my car in the sun- very nice.

I think I remember reading somewhere that these solar panels are not available after some model year. Are these still available and would they fit an '05? What are they for exactly? (read my question above as I don't realy understand the Pano roof option very well). Also, is the entire roof glass on the outside?

yes the ambient light is different. It is not that oval shaped panel, it is two separate lighting elements that are larger and sit width wise in the vehicle. It fits between the two interior openings for the pano roof.

love the pano roof. have had many people look up in the evening and say "cool roof". It is a must if you live in a place where the sun comes out. No noises/rattles.
