some nice cars ;)
Please Advice
Ok..heres the problem.
There is a *tick tick * noise coming from my car when i start it.. and it becomes 'faster' when i drive it. My guess is that its coming from the belt.
Anyone else ever had a similar problem? Could it be the supercharger belt?
If it is what precautions i need to take before i take it to the service center?
I am a lil worried...
Thx.

Its coming from the belt? You sure it isnt valvetrain noise? Check your oil level and make sure it is not low.. I noticed sometimes if the oil level is a little low you begin to hear the valvetrain a little more.
Does the noise go away once the car is warmed up or is it constant while driving?

I checked what u asked. The oil is full. And the noise is constant. I am sure its the belt. But i dont know which belt. It gets louder with accelaration...But the performance is not effected.
Thx for ur input... but i dont know whats going on...

How does a rubber belt make a ticking noise? Also, how did you check the oil level? The dash monitor can be off. The service department has a special dipstick to be sure. Either way, I'd take it in. You don't want to figure it out after the fact.

Ticking belt Or Bahm
Too seperate the belt noise from the motor valve train noise. I use too take a bar of Ivory soap and touch it to the bottom & then too the top side of the belt. Be careful If the belt is sticking in the Poly vee grooves of a driven pulley. This will let it release and the Ticking will stop temperary. You have 2 belts . 1st one is the Kompressor , The next one in is for the engine driven acc. AE; Alternator ,Power steering. A/C compressor Water pump. You should still visit your dealer soon. ___PTE___
