Nos + 63
Has anyone attempted this yet? Any idea if the high compression ratio would cause problems with NOS?
Any place down here in SoCal that can do that sort of work?
What sort of cost are we talking about here?

That's a good question. Supposedly the new AMG motors are supposed to be plenty stout, so if they have forged internals and run a conservative stock tune, I'm sure that a wet shot would work great.

LOL, tell you what, you guys pay for it and I'll let you pay for my NOS.
Jangy are you saying that the 7-speed would be too puny to handle that kind of torque? I think you might be right and obviously it would only be used in the higher speeds (60+)

I think Kleemann stated that the 7g can take some very high amount of tq. That figure may be as high as 700 ft/lbs + but I do not recall for sure. Regardless it was enough for a blower kit on say a SLK55 with the weaker 7g of the SLK.
On the topic of the 7g Jangy I now have a E350 daily driver with 7g and I can honestly say it is the BEST trans I have ever had in ANY mb in the last 10 years. The 7g in a family members E500 is horrible in comparison. This new run of 7g cars is so smooth, so quick to react, and s willing to match rev's that I was really blow away.
I think MB got the memo and finally fixed the mess they made. You can get a 7g car and be happy once again!
