Could have/would have/ should have bs about bikes

....so all the damn bikers that make it sound like nothing can beat a bike... it gets annoying when the bikers say the bike should have won, if driven right etc BS excuses... well now... they dont have an excuse even with the proper bike/driver

enjoy

cool vid but that doesn't have much to do with the bike vs. car arguments that go on around here.

I agree that there are bikes that will lose to an E55, but they are older, smaller bikes or cruisers. I race my sportbike and my cars, so I'm pretty familiar with what they run at the track. Even the fastest E55 I've seen on this site is pretty far behind a newer sportbike.

I own and operate one of the leading motorcycle shop in the country,so i know a little about bikes.....there are quite a few cars that can beat a bike, but its depending on the type of bike or car.As a general rule,a bike is usually faster.
Looking on the video......the guy was not a rider,he was afraid.......look on how he corners the bike........he brakes up on the corners much more than the car......also it did not appear as if he was trying to pass, but merely keep up,maybe because the car was moving from lane to lane.
However that was one fast car,not sure that that bike could beat that car, definately not with that rider.

I agree... Bikes are fast.... but only when the 'right' person is sitting on that thing... But most bikers will get spanked around corners by the right cars... No room for error on two wheels.

+1, another factor to consider is, as a biker, there are certain risks I am just not willing to take around a car, So if we're both gunning for the same corner I'm just gonna back off cause I value my life and I know the car will be fine even after a crash.

Weight is also a big factor on a bike. My 1100 is MUCH faster with, say, a 150 lb rider VS my nearly 250 lbs.

So you guys are saying a bike can beat a veyron...even to 200mph... i thought bikes get slower as speeds increase because of drag....

no one said a bike > veyron....

doubt any normal bike could beat a veyron in a straight line. veyron takes no skill, just a 10lb brick to mash the gas. AWD on the worlds largest (widest) production car tires. a powerful bike is tricky to launch.

with that said, the bike will have a much larger drag/hp number, exponential at speeds over 120mph. As a rider, I wouldnt follow closely to fast cars at all. F-that.

I think 0-120, +1 bike. 100-180, +1 Z06, E55, etc.

Agree about having no room for error on a bike, but disagree on corners,b/c the bike is much smaller that a car so you have more road surface t manuver...,think about those knee draggers going around corners. Some of those riders are practically on their shoulders and dragging their knees, and doing it at a very high rate of speed.

it's not the road surface, it's the tire surface or contact patch that makes the differerence and on a bike there just isn't as much compared to a car. therefor, bikes have slower corner speeds compared to real sports cars. and the fact that the faster you go on a bike (regardless of how much road surface there is) the narrower the actual racing line becomes. if you get off your line by less than a foot, that can be enough to push you off the track by corner exit. there really isn't any room for "manuvering" once you commit on a bike.
