hi
i have just trade in my e500 advantgarde it has the air matic suspension too,wat i dont like about the e500 wen i put the car in comfort mode it sames to sit far too high so i use the sport 2 to bring the car down a bit which looks much better,Now i have traded in for an e 55 amg,wat a differents in power,also i notice the e 55 sits down lower even in comfort mode,but wen i press for sport 2 mode the car does not lower at all but wen driven in sport 2 mode its diffently A a stiffer ride
Wat i want to know is u can see the e500 move up and down wen pressing between comfort and sport,but not in the e55,i know the e55 has the tune air matic from amg,its not broken cause there is a button u can press to rise the car up for big bumps and the e55 rises up and the lowered down wen unselect??
please help :P

I dont think the changing of the modes raises and lowers the car. It just stiffens the ride. I think when you drive over a certain speed, the car automatically lowers itself....

JUST WENT TO MERCEDES DEALER TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE AIR MATIC AND WAS TALKING TO THE AMG MAN AND SAID THE E55 IS COMPLETLY DIFF THING FROM THE OTHER MODEL,THE MAN SAID THE MODES DOESNT AJUST THE HEIGHT LEVEL BUT ONLY STIFFENS THE RIDE,CAUSE THE E55 ALREADY SITS LOWER THEN THE REST.,I WAS A BIT SKEPTIC,THEN HE BROUGHT ME OUT TO OTHER E55 AND DID A DEMO AND HE WAS RIGHT IT DOES NOT GO DOWN OR UP JUST STIFFENS THE RIDE,,WAT A RELIEVE

I also noticed that the car will sit lower when it's parked for a while?
Every time I come out of work the car sits low (~ 1 1/4 finger tall between front fender and tire), but when I get out of the car after I drove home the front sits almost 2 fingers tall. Nothing was adjusted during the drive. I always have it set on S mode and Sports II.

I Think Thats Normal Cause My Dads S500 Has Airmatic And If Its Not Driven For Couple Of Days The Front Sits Lower And Wen He Starts The Car Up The Car Just Raises To The Normal Height ,wen The Car Sits Air Can Escape Out Ofthe Air Matic,but If The Car Sarts Up It Will Bump Back The Air It Loses,
This Will Apply To All Air Suspension Cars,take Example Citreon Cars..

My E500 does the same exact thing, except when it cold like it is now (really cold!! single digits) it lowers even more, the front looks slammed and half the tire is tucking under the fender. The car looks mean when I open the garage door because its so low to the ground.
