63 Ecu....

Has anyone tried the RennTECH or other ECU for the 63? Site claims 33hp and 30 TQ. Just curious as to whether it is worth it or not. Able to feel any difference? Sponsors feel free to chime in even on your performance testing and any notes. Thanks.

That's crank hp gain right? cause even at crank that's a huge hard to believe claim for a N/A motor like to see a dyno to back that one up..

If true, then damn impressive...Also curious what are they charging for this? I know when I had my S class ecu tuned by powerchip it was ricockulous 1k+

i'd say if you do the ECU do the hedears too, or better yet do headers first! I belive they are very close in price!

Powerchip has been doing a lot of research and development on tunes for the 63 motor. They have actually had a ML63 in for about a week and it's going to the dyno today to try out some new files. I'm sure it will show some great gains.

I will update everyone shortly.

Looks like it adds about 20whp. The dyno chart is a little difficult t o read.

Renntech's ECU upgrade is indeed just slightly north of $3200. I spoke to them today and was told that the headers would not be available for quite sometime (maybe even a year). Just curious as to whether or not I should simply sit and wait or play with the ECU as the first performance mod.

Guess it would be nice to tell people I'm pushing 540 HP and 495 TQ. Something about those numbers is just impressive. Will keep looking for dynos and see if I can get any other info (as in personal experiences). Thanks guys, keep the info coming.

Look into Evosport's power packages.. They will get you there easily and there are numerous board members running their packages with some amazing gains.

Evosport's website (like most) mentions nothing about the E63. Are there dyno's, customer testimonials, anything? Guess I will give them a call as well to find out more.

Powerchip does the software development and will have dyno's soon along with some testimonials. Contact me if you have any questions.

ML63 dyno graphs are here!!!!!!! Powerchip has gained some awesome hp/tq and on the 63 motor. Also, notice the dip in power at around 4,500rpms while running stock software. Powerchip flattens out the power band and gains much more hp/tq from 2,500-3,500 rpms.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to get an order in.

Sincerely,

-Aaron

Enjoy...

Yea I'm not gonna lie, its a bit steep. However once the headers are released it should be a very very nice combo.

To the crank, not wheels. Most cars experience 14-20% power loss from the crank to the wheels.
