Command Service Menu

What are the codes to get in, and more importantly.... what cool things can be done in it?

do a search, you will find all you anwers. one word or warning; playing around with the engineering menu can be dangerous if you do not know what you are doing....

All I did to mine is add the AMG logo at start up. Does anyone know how to do that for the new ones (E63)? I wanted to hook R's up, but the codes aren't the same or I forgot a step.

The same code works for the E63 as the prior models. I changed mine several months back. Radio mode, hold down the 5 for a few seconds, while continuing to hold 5 press 3 and 7 at the same time. This will access the menu and then select "W211 AMG" if I remember correctly.

Command Service Menu & build codes

I tried to access the Command Menu today on my E500 with Nav, I pressed 3, 5 & 7 at once and nothing happened. The unit was set to Radio.

I than pressed 8,7 & 1 held it for a few secounds a heard a beep but no menu. Does any body know what, if anything the 8,7, &1 did?

Does anyone know what the build codes are for the Command units, to know what unit is in the car? I found the build sheet.

Thanks

I just got a PM about this and it is a good point. I have only done mine while it was in the service menu. I do NOT know if it works when you are on the radio screen. That may just play with the presets. Also, I think I did mine with the car on, but don't remember what position the ignition was in.

Hold the "5"

Yes, I held the "5", yes it worked , I pushed the radio button, to get out of cd mode, I read that in another thread, I than was taken to a menu that showed "keybrd" by the top left set of side buttons, it listed the models in the middle, but no "Euro" model.

I pressed the Keybrd key and than it scrolled to a menu that showed the 211 ECE, I put the dot next to it and pressed the back button, nothing happened I am waiting to go back and see if it "reboots" to the AMG screen.

My manual shows this Command Unit is supposed to play MP3 and recorded CD's. I want to do DVD's

The beep just means you stored a radio preset

5-3-7 for my 06 E55 works to get the amg logo, might have to turn the car off and restart a few mins later.

It does work while in radio mode. And yes it will change your preset as it did on mine. Regardless it worked on my car and it's nice to see the ///AMG on start up.

The rreset worked

Progress It worked , I went back about and hour later and turned the radio on.

I now have the AMG logo.

Now the question is , if I change the setting to the Euro (ECE) mode will the unit play a video DVD?

Word of caution, my dealer advised me of voiding warranty of command unit by changing any internal menu settings. They have a bulletin advising customer tampering and to bill all repairs or resetting of units.

NO!! Do not mess with the other settings as they are simply sofware interfacs without the hardware backup. You will simply have to change it back.

That's exactly how I did mine 1 1/2 years ago, AMG logo every time COMAND turns on now.
It just says "AMG", it's not a menu.

Also, why does just about everyone here call it "command"? It's a freakin' acronym COMAND. I bet some of you will probably have to Google the word acronym.
I can't understand why so many people get that wrong.
COMAND is MB101 stuff, come on!
WTF?

Haha Jangy, I did it! I did it! I now have AMG greeting screen! Woot!

Heres how I got mine to work...

1) Ign. on, shifter in PARK (I tried while driving...it didnt work)
2) Select comand to AUX. Not radio (not for me at least)
3) Select comand to SERV.
4) Press and HOLD 5 (count to 5)
5) Then press and HOLD 3 and 7 (HOLD, do not let go all three buttons)
6) After a couple of seconds the menu screen will come up
7) Select W211AMG
8) Press "BACK" (lower right-hand)
9) Ign. Off, Open door, Close door.

Now you will have the AMG screen the next time you turn on the ign.
