Hello, new member please educate me

Hi, my name is Mike and I have been throwing the idea of buying myself a 2004-2006 E55 AMG.

A little about me, I have been driving Japanese imports for way way too long now and since I'm getting old (turning 27 on April) I need something more my age
I currently own a 2000 Subaru Impreza which I put way way too much money into it to build it into a full blown STI. This subaru is my 2nd subaru which I have converted. I work at Boeing, the people that makes planes for those who don't know
I also work with one of my good friends at his performance shop that mainly does drift cars like 240sx and AE86. I also own a AE86 myself
The owner owns a 2004 C320 and he let me drove his car and I totally fell in love

I have been looking at these cars so far:

- 2002 BMW M5
- 2006 BMW M5 (I really want this but don't really want to pay $80k+)
- 2006 Infiniti M45
- 2005 Mercedes E55 AMG

I hope I can learn more about the E55 AMG and if anybody can tell me what are the cons about the E55.

Thanks

Mike

I've owned all those cars except the E55! lol

The Infiniti - more tech than performance. It's a fun car, but doesn't drive nearly as well as the Germans. It's stereo and electronics is much better than the German competition though. My wife drives one now.

2002 M5 - pure awesome and likely the best of the cars listed for the money

2006 M5 - I had one for 8 months. Nice car, but I didn't like the SMG all that much. I'd also prefer a lot more torque. iDrive is awesome. I sold it before I had to take a bath on depreciation.

E55 - I'm thinking of getting one myself. A total beast, but likely doesn't handle as well as the BMW's.... BUT... It's a sedan. It handles awesome for a sedan from what I can tell on 1 test drive and reading car rags.

E55 + cons = I have yet to find a con with the beast so far What more could you ask for in a car, you've got speed, comfort, and style

I hope I can learn more about the E55 AMG and if anybody can tell me what are the cons about the E55.

Thanks

My point was that it's a sedan so who really cares which handles better. Get a sports car for handling. I thought you MB guys would like that.
