hi guys I'm planning to buy E55 2003 and I want to know is there are common porblems with this model cuz it's the 1st model of this look !

so what are the problems I'm gonna face in 2003 and I'm not gonna face in 2004+ ?

it's really the luck of the draw and when your 'in-service' date of the 03 was. I have an 03 with woth a service date of August '03 and am VERY **** about my cars. I bought the car and was perfect and had 7 months of warranty left. In the first week all kinds of ***** went wrong with it and the dealer took care of every single thing under warranty and now the car is perfect! I certainly would not buy one that did not have some kind of warranty left on it. There are guys that swear by the 2004 and higher years but you're also paying the extra $$. This is my daily driver so for me, it didnt have to be a garage queen. Try to get something with the options that are important to you and not just options for the sake of options. There are some cool things (like an iPod input etc) on the later years.

I have a 2003 E55 with 22k and just bought a 6 year, 75K platinum warranty from Mercury. Covers everything but normal wear and tear. Cost around $3300. I heard they might be dropping coverage of AMG SC cars so move quickly if you're interested.

I have an 03 and have a similar experience to BigApe. Most of the bugs in the 03 cars have updates, and it's just a matter of getting the car to the dealer to have it updated.

Once the few bugs in my car were sorted, the car has been great, and I have almost every option except for the solar panel. I also bought the Mercury extended warranty on 12/31 for my 03, so check in to that.
