Registered For AMG Challenge
Got an email this morning from MB about the AMG Challenge. Just signed up for the September 20th Graduate Program at Pocono Raceway. They cut out Lime Rock and most other venues. Only racing at California Speedway, Pocono Raceway and Miami Speedway. As much as I would like to go back to Lime Rock, I guess Pocono will be a new adventure.
I missed it last year and am looking forward to having fun again this year. Plus, I can use my new helmet.

They bumped the Road America Venue to Autobahn in Joliet last year. Sounds like they didn't have such a great turnout as opposed to earlier years. Or maybe people are getting sick of paying big $$$ to get limited driving (both speed and time behind the wheel).
I did the AMG Challenge a couple of years ago at Road America and was somewhat disappointed with the actual on track experience. 3 laps - once in the morning and once again in the afternoon don't really add up to the $1500 per person price tag. Although I do have to admit the autocross portion was a flippin' riot.

Did RoadAmerica two years ago and Joliet last year. Think I might try Skip Barber this year. If anyone needs a number to sign on, mine is 33206M.

Just signed up for 5/12 . I absolutely cannot wait. this is a great deal when you think about the fact that you're not f-ing up your own car. Tires alone would cost you that much.

Got the E-mail from AMG last night late.
I would suggest booking it NOW. It will be closed by the end of
the day !!!!!!!
All signed up and paid for the Fontana Challenge May 11, 2007.
Could have done the Graduate this year since I went last year.
But taking my son this year. Good father son event.
And I get some more skills before I go "Graduate Course".
All I can say is this is the most fun you can have thats legal
and that you are still wearing your clothes when its done !!!

If you dont go off you wont have any big bills waiting for you when you get home from the track. ANd leaving ESP on makes it almost impossible to go off track so its a win win situation if you ask me.
Finally when you go to a track event you get 2-3 hrs of seat time where the amg challenge puts you into other events rather than letting you learn how to race the car at full speed.
I just got my invitation and I will likely sign up so I get a slot. There is a good chance I will cancel however since I would rather just do some track events of my own!

OK - Now that we are closer to the 20th (and the time I have to cancel if I decide not to go), anyone sign up for the graduate program on the 20th?
