Change the oil after first 1200 miles?

Change the oil after first 1200 miles?
Even though the manual doesn't call for it, does anybody here change their oil after the break in period?

I just picked up my E63 after it received its 1000 mile inspection. I had them change the oil and filter. It may not be necessary for the motor, but it makes me feel better.

When I had the oil changed at 500 miles on my Z06, there were minute particles on the plug. That is a hand built motor as well.

This is great, By all means change the oil if you own and plan to keep your car. New engines will surprise you. If it is possible take a sample 4 to 6 oz. of the oil, put it in a shallow pan take it out in the sun, and roll it around like you are paining for gold. Surprise

Few things will make you feel so good about caring for your new car.
