Pop the little plastic cap off from the mounting plate of the pedal. Underneath you will find a nut that requires a 10mm socket. Take that off. Then lift the pedal over the bolt and pull down to remove the entire pedal assembly. At the top of the assembly you will see the wiring harness. This is held on by a clip, press down on each side and pull it off. Plug one end of the sprint booster into the pedal assembly and plug the wires to the computer into the other end of the sprint booster. It only goes in one way so you can't mess it up. Stuff the pedal back into place and tighten the nut back. Start car, have fun.

Oh, and don't forget to take a peek at the kickdown button once you have the pedal off.

Install is a peice of cake. Exactly how bfnnrgn says. If it takes you more than 10 minutes, you need to turn in your man card.

Pop it in and have fun. Make sure to report back on the 100ft burnout patch you left on the street in front of your house.

Ehem!!?!?!??!?

I bet Jangy doesn't even have an E55. All of the thousands of posts about RENNtech, Brabus, lowering modules, wheels, brakes, intakes, pulley's , ECU upgrades, and canyon carving was all his master plan to snake me out of my sprintbooster.

Well played Jangy, well played.

Alright you bunch of rodents. I finally took the 15 minutes or so to do the install. I am taking a bit longer to check out the kickdown switch as well. I will get it all back together tonight and go for a canyon run tomorrow. Full writeup to come...

hanging with my bro has been nice. Had some 7th row seats at the lakers / clippers game, so I have been gone.

Good lord, I smell another malcolm thread. You know what? It has been a while since anyone has seen my E55? Maybe it is all just a part of my imagination??

Since no write up was required, here we go. The install was simple (as advertised). The car is VERY jumpy. It will definitely take a day or so to get used to it. My liking it or not will have everything to do with how it acts at WOT. If I can still canyon run and it be as smooth as OEM, then I like it. If it takes away my ability to modulate the pedal, then I hate it.
Bunch of screw *****. Benz -O knows me, so he's allowed to doubt. The others.....shame on you.

The kick down. See the pics. Mine IS NOT the one I had posted before. There are NO wires coming from the unit. In fact, I kept the piece off. What role does it play? I have no clue right now.

Give it a week. Leave it in and drive around normally. It does take a while for your brain to re-learn but once it does, you'll be able to modulate the throttle subconsciencously.

I'll put in some miles to see how I like it after I quit thinking about it. I already know I'd like it on a non aspirated car.

On both of my 500's it makes a world of difference. I always thought it might be too much for a 55 motor though. Christian swore by it though on his 55. He's actually the one that talked me into getting one. I think you'll end up liking it.

Does it get rid of the delay in launch? Is it push the pedal and the wheels spin instantly full force?

The short verdict is that it does seem to take away the delay. I'm still not sure and the only way to be positive that it isn't a placebo effect is to give it a week and go back to stock. I had always heard rumors that fly by wire cars are programmed to consider small acceleration inputs as niose so that you get a smoother ride and better gas mileage. I think that may be what this takes away. It is still rough on the ride, but I do want to say that the responsiveness may be there.
