Screw malls, I'm more concerned with open roads, like Palomar.

Open roads it's great.....my problem is the towns that I go thru in the mornings for work make their living off of the guys doing 47 in a 35 so the city part is important to me...not because I'm going 80 or anything...

My unit is in hand and verified to be the AMG one. The vendor was very reliable and timely. I'll do a write up on differences noted between the AMG one versus the one Benz - O - Rama lent me.

..........Just wanted to add my experience with the sprint booster to this thread. I installed the sprint booster in my G55K4. The installation is even easier than in an E55. The unit it plugs into is in the engine bay. The installation took exactly 10secs. I took the car for a test drive. Good news is that the sprint booster does do what it is supposed to do. Bad news is that it does it too well. Throtle was very sensitive and I don't mind that. I don't even mind it being too sensitive. The problem is that the car goes into limp mode at even very minor throtle pressure. I am at 600rear wheel torque at last dyno. I just oderdered the less sensitive sprint booster, but I still think I'll have a problem with it. I need Vrus's EGS re-programming.

Angry SB group buy

After reading all these raving reviews, I want to get a SB for my slk32. Emailed Sandoval. Think I'm too late for the GB. Can I still get it for what you guys paid for?

Ted you got me nervous now....I dont have that kind of HP but...has anyone got any input as to how sensistive the AMG unit is ? I was thinking of getting the less sensitive model after hearing of Teds experience...

.........As I understand it what happened with mine is well known by the vendors and makers of the Sprint booster. and explains why they came up with less agressive version. I have ordered the less aggressive version. Will try it and see.

I would get the AMG model. It is the one I got and I love it. It still kills all the lag as the other one did, but it simply has a more linear throttle response. It is basically not as harsh, but the lag kill is IDENTICAL.
I do not think the price is the same, but I think that Creative Autoworks (sponsor) is getting 15 in.

So Jangy are you saying they have dialed out a little of the harsh effect on the AMG unit ?

Yes, actually I found out that the reasoning behind the various models were the few cases of overpowered 55Ks that they were getting flags on. the company is a true enthusiast tuner and is big on learning the systems.

Will SB fit this problem?

I have a question, I have a basic question.
OK my issue with the slk32. Whenever the light turns green, I hit the gas and the car reacts very slowly from stop. If I hit gas too much, then it will jump forward and spin the wheels. Kinda of like an all or non deal. Is this the lag we are talking about. Will spring booster fix this problem? or will it just give me a big wheel spin sooner?

..........what this shows is that we are now finally at the point where power output from these 55k engines is no longer the limiting factor. The transmission is now the limiting factor. There is so much power and torque out of these engines that it now overcomes the limits of the previously bullet proof AMG 5 speed tranny to handle. You can basically safely mod your 55K engine to near 600RWHP if you had the funds. I never thought we would get to this point. What a great engine!! Time for Vrus's EGS re-programming.

Once you learn to use the SB you'll find the throttle and behaviour of the car to be more predictable than it was before.

Finally had a chance to get the car out and try out the Sprintbooster. As far as I am concerned it turns the throttle feel into something I am totally familiar with. Took about 30 seconds to get used to. It feels like a real gas pedal now. Excellent little mod. Throttle is right there when you use the pedal. Its not jerky or uncontrollable at all.
