Offset question for aggressive setup
Minimum et35 in front and 40 in rear should be fine. The tires is what rubs, so tire size has lots to do with choices.
As for tires, I was considering 235/35/19x8.5 and 265/30/10 (for that stretch look)

I'm not sure why the offset will matter if I'm on a 19x10 rim running 265 or 275. What I'm trying to figure out is, what would be the lowest possible offset for a 19x8.5 and 19x10 wheel. +40 seems a bit high for an RWD.

Yo wnewb. it definitely matters what size tire. For what you are running (265), yes you can go more aggressive, but I can't tell yoiu the magic number. Mine are 9.5inches with et37 and they are perfect. Anymore and I'd be rubbing, but then I have 295s.
Tire size and style does matter.

If you were to read my question, again, I was asking about offsets. Why would it matter if I'm using +30, +40, or even -10 offsets?
Simply, on a 19x10/275 tire, a lower OR higher offset - tire size will not change.
Believe it or not, I can run the same size wheel and tire, but with different offsets;
* 275 fits a 10" (T1Rs will be stretched)
19x10 on 275/35/19 +32
OR
19x10 on 275/35/19 +30
OR
19x10 on 275/35/19 +28
OR
19x10 on 275/35/19 +25 (max lip)
That is an astonishing revelation isn't it?
Wheel/Rim width = Tire width. Tire width's don't factor in with offsets. Unless you are talking about JDM VIP, which I highly doubt, then that was another story.
The purpose of my question was to figure out maximum rim width and the lowest possible offset. Hence, my thread is entitled "Offset question - aggressive setup"
I'm not here to flame. Like many others, I'm here to research and learn. Next time, consider the facts before calling out newbs or (wnewb).

you'll learn that jangy may not be the most diplomatic chap around here but you need to pick your battles...tire size and tread width DOES matter.
on a 19" rim with a 40 offset you can run 285's, maybe even 295's. try that with a 30 offset and you'll rub. put a 265 on that same 30 offset rim and guess what...it fits. (for simplicity's sake i'm not addressing aspect ratio which could also play a role.)

Sorry to disappoint. i wasn't meaning to disrespect, but I do stand by the facts. You can run any rim you want, but it is ultimately the tire that rubs. Sorry for misunderstanding. i'm not one to give a **** about lips and looks.
