And yes, I've heard the high praises of the old model 750 Bimmer. I remember when I was a little kid how much I loved that car...and then it got stolen, twice.

I miss it a lot and would still have it as a weekend car if it hadn't burned to the ground. I was in the process of adding on another garage bay just for the car and a couple days away from ordering the supercharger for it. I had ceramic headers, flowmasters, subframe connectors, 3.73 gears, and many other mods on it. A coil fire did it in one early morning.

Mine got stolen right out of my driveway one night when I was 15!!! It was my father's BABY before I "inherited" it as my first car, he put 200,000 miles on it and it still ran like silk.

One night he woke up to the growl of the engine, only to see it being backed out of our driveway with the lights off. He called 911 and the police CHASED the thieves down to Newark where the car was immediately recovered. Pops woke the whole family up, drove us down there, and nearly pulled one of the thieves out of the driver's seat.

Ugh. Sad way to lose it. My dad wrecked mine. It had 135,000 miles on it at the time. The car was perfect. Only one thing needed replacement that whole time; the water pump. (not counting brakes and tires) Even the clutch was still original. It made me a Ford fan... until I owned a 1995 Mustang for 6 months. Nothing was wrong w/ that car, but it was just boring. The 1994+ Mustangs lost me. I like the current ones though.

It's fun to look through these and see all of the GT Mustangs/Buick GN's (not many IROCZ's though - the TPI 5.7 was the "hot one"). I graduated high-school in 88 so in the fall of 1987 things got hot for the "muscle cars" and loved the era and how much hype was around cars.

My dad had a 89 Mustang GT and ended up putting a chip in it, a pulley, 3.27 gears, and lowered it (cut the springs) and put on rims from the 1990 Mustang GT's. Needless to say, cutting the springs did not do a lot for handling but it did make for nice weight transfer and the car was a blast to drive!

I too would love to find an original!

Awesome list of muscle cars. Why did you get rid of the Yenko's, Hemi's, 409's (well, a lot of the car's on your list for that matter)? I could speculate (like you bought low/sold high!)...
