I am going to make a run of Piano black and CF... Waiting on a production schedule..
I cant seem to get a good Aluminum paddle done.. its way too heavy..
I am thinking the only way to make the aluminum version is to do something like the Ferrari paddles and make them thinner..

No. I cant find a spare set of buttons that we can use to make molds from.. I would have to ship them overseas and they would be destroyed so it's been hard... MB wont sell the buttons separately. They are only part of the steering wheel and I really dont want to spend $1500 on a steering wheel just to get a couple of buttons.
I am stuck...
Anyone know of a crashed E55 somewhere that we can snag the steering wheel buttons from?

Ok.. First batch of paddles is in production.. I am making 25sets of CF, and 25 sets of piano black.
What do you guys think of the custom packaging I am having made for them? Presentation is very important to me, so I'm not shipping these out in brown boxes..
I will put these in the online catalogue on our website shortly and will paste a link for those that want them to order them.
Would love your feedback on the packaging idea... Inside I will have clear plastic, shaped clamshell like the iPhone packaging to hold the paddles in place.

Nope.. Just Piano Black and CF for now.
It wont fit ANY E55.. they use different paddle bases.. I will get something done for them.. its just going to take some time.. molds are expesive ($2K++) so I will have to see how many E55 need them before I go ahead. We will also have to agree on 1 style for that particular car to keep costs down.

I really like the look of the packaging. Only question is what material is the actual box made of? How thick is it and how was the VRP logo put on the box? Screen print? Or is it pressed into the box? I'm a watch freak, so I pay a lot of attention to packaging. From the illustration though it looks good.

I like the packaging a lot however I'm really not buying the paddles for the packaging, it's more for the paddles. It could be in a cardboard box nestled in foam for all I care.
Did you have an estimated cost of the paddles?
Did you rule out silver carbon?
Are the piano black ones heavier than the carbon fiber ones?
What are the piano black ones made of?
Are the carbon fiber ones full carbon fiber or is it a wrapping?

The box looks great!
Let me know when the first production is done.
I want to be one of the first to own the piano black ones

But perhaps you should install a CF lip on the front of the box and pressurize the box with laughing gas for us nutty guys...just a thought.

I have a designer working on this.. I will ask for some details.
I get your point.. I am just a stickler for presentation.. that's all.
The CF and piano black are almost identical weight.. CF is a bit heavier but hardly noticeable. The CF is a overlay ontop of the plastic piece.
Sorry buddy.. They want me to make 100pieces minimum.. it will be too costly since no one really wants silver.

I've just placed an order for pano black. A little confused, the site said 25 pieces on hand, and "pre-order". Are you shipping at this time?
