The dealer is sending me the MB info tomorrow. I am excited. Car has 47k miles which is on the high side for a 2005, but the car will most likely sit in the garage most of the time as I have a new work truck. I paid 48. What do you guys think?
Congrats.... Post pictures once you get the car. Should have purchased my vehicle. Mine was an 04 but less miles and went for around the same price with SL65 rims, K1 package and more..... Good luck and dont forget to get a good extended warrenty!

Yeah... I know Quick E55 is selling his.... beautiful car... except it's silver

Having only 3000 miles to go is almost the same thing as no warranty. And owning 55k engine w/o warranty could cause a big ding to your finances.

Even though you said the car would mainly stay in the garage, I never know anyone who only puts <3K miles a year (let alone 2 years ) on <$100K car. I myself have been using my AMG's as weekend cars (I mainly work from home :p ) and still manage to put 3-5K a year per car (6-10K miles a year).

So don't worry.... just be patient, the right car will show up.

oh, i thought you had already bought the car.

when the time comes for me to sell my 01 E55, I'm getting a 2007 E63. I really like the subtle changes they made to the 07, and also I prefer NA engines. 6.3L sounds sweet, even though "E-sixty-three" doesnt quite roll off the tongue like "E-fiddy-five"!!

There is another 2004 at a Mercedes dealer I am looking at that has it certified for 2 more years and it only has 19k miles. It will probably cost me 54k though. Is that a lot better deal? Same color but more options. The only thing it does not have is the sat radio. It has TPMS, parktronic, distronic, solar panel, pano roof, keyless go, side and rear shades, ventilated and dynamic drive seats, trunk closer, lighting option xenon(turning), phone, comfort package. Is the CPO and lower miles worth 6k more?

Well I already agreed to the price and put down a deposit yesterday, but backed out of it after reading more on here and other information about the 2005s. He told me that it had the solar panel and it didn't. I guess that was loophole for me to get all of my deposit back.

For me it is.... you got the other car for $48K.... extended warranty, which may not be as good, would cost you around $3-4K --> $51-52K for 47K miles vs. $54K for 19K miles.... hell yeah.

BTW, the car you loooked at before did not have distronic.... AFAIK, there is a very few E55 w/ distronic...

See the pic of the car you were thinking of buying

vs. that w/ distronic

From outside... there should be a black screen / plastic in the middle of the grill.

I am sure you can knock off 2k of the asking price. This is a much better deal as it has lower miles AND more options along with a CPO and MB warrenty... The MB warrenty and CPO alone is worth a few more thousand dollars. I'd go for that one!

Thanks for the help on that! I see the difference now. The one I am currently looking at does not have it as well.

they can ask whatever they want, but both you & they know the market for these cars are extremely soft right now. you'd be shocked at wholesale prices on these cars. go in there and tell him you got $53k cash to deal today, take it or leave it.

YOu'd be better off paying 6k over the other one knowing you have warrenty and less miles.

I would make you an offer, but I don't think you would come down to what I want to pay. Your car is beautiful by the way. I want to be in the high 40s...
