E63 rotors on my E55?
Are these parts interchangeable? I know that Eurotech sells some aftermarket 2 piece rotors, but the E63 also has them. Im looking at my rotors and they are on their last legs. Grooves everywhere. Im just waiting for the cluster to tell me to replace pads and then its time to 86 the rotors. Has anyone attempted to do this swap? is it easy? Are the offsets the same? Any tips?

I bought a set for $1500 and did a lot of measuring and all were the same. We never tried to fit test, since i would not have been able to return them if I did. The reason I went against it was that the E63 ones were only 5lbs lighter than the E55 ones. I was hoping for more.
All the sizes are a perfect match. The only part that was a maybe was the bolts that hold the two miece E63 ones together being able to clear the E55 calipers. It looked like it would but i didn't risk it. I hope to buy the EVO updated versions or go RennTech.

So does the E63 have different brake calipers? Is the placement of the calipers relative to the hub different? Heres the thing, I bet the dealer would be willing to continue to warranty my braking system if I put AMG parts on the car. I would highly doubt they would even install the Evosport units.

Again, my only concern was the location where the hat is bolted onto the rotor. the E55 rotors have a groove at that point, whereas the E63 rotors have the nuts sticking out. Visually, it shouldn't matter, but I never test fitted.

Yes. Also note that the E63 only comes with 2 piece fronts, NOT rears. I never looked deeply enough into it to see if one of the AMG 2 pieces would fit the rear.
On a real note, however, most of the gains to be had (weight and performance) are in the fronts.

I hear ya. In our world, its not a bad price. I looked into having my own developed and I'd be at at about $2500 for a set done the way i want them. If EVO comes through and seems to be a good fit, then I'm in.

No damned way do I want that normally aspirtated torqueless thing because its got better rotors. That would be like trading in a 20 something blonde bolt-on equipped bimbo for a middle aged heffer because the fatty has a better "personality".
