Ding in Chrome Trim
Some inconsiderate SOB put a ding in the chrome strip that runs through the rub strip on the driver's side door of my wife's E55. Does any one know if this is a replaceable part or does the entire stip have to be replaced?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Just took a quick look in my computer and it looks like you have to order the whole bodyside molding with the chrome. My computer does not show the chrome serperate. Price on the molding is $190 list.

Pretty sure one of the guys here took off those pieces to black them out...they may pop out seperately ?? even if you have to buy the whole piece you may be able to just replace the chrome.

That is good news that they slide apart. I had a 560 SEL that had the chrome inserts on the lower body cladding and some one dented the chrome strip. The Paintless Dent repair guy that I use is a true master and he was able to work out the dent after I removed the strip. Thanks for all of your input.
