headlight aiming
I am not one bit happy with my W211 halogen headlamps. There is a hight adjustment for the combine high and low beam, how ever no separate adjustment for the low beam only. In my case when the high beams are correctly aimed the lows are aimed too low, as indicated by a hot spot 20 ft in front of the car. If you correct the aim so that the lows are correct the highs illuminate trees 40 feet above street level at 200 feet. On the back of the headlamps is a white plastic wing nut and when disengaged will allow movement of the low beam, however no adjustment is to be had here, this is the location of the auto level servo for the Bi-Xenon lamps. I live in a heavily wooded area that is far from the city lights gets real dark and we have many creatures that wander out on the roads at night. At this point have planed to massively up grade my lamps and fogs.
1. MBNL Bi-Xenon
2. Gut and mod high beam for 100 watt halogen
3. Convert fogs to Xenon and change wiring so that they can operate with high beams on.
Stock halogen W211 headlamps are the worst I have ever seen, personaly I am shocked they are on a car that is so fast.
