Shedding a few pounds

Time to lose some weight.. First step..new wheels. BTW, thanks to all the forum members and sponsors who helped me on my quest for lightweight wheels. The first picture is with my old wheels. The second & third are my new wheels.

Weight Savings

Stock wheels vs HRE C21s

My stock wheels weighed 27.5 pounds and 28.8 pounds (F&R).
My HRE C21s weigh 18.6 pounds and 19 pounds (F&R).
Total weight savings thus far 37.4 pounds in unsprung weight..
Priceless

More to come...

HREs look great!!
I think the EVO brake rotors reduce unsprung weight too,
What is a good number as in dollars per pound?
evo rotor $2,000. / 40 Lbs. = $50.

Diets suck.
My bad 34 lbs.

Drives Slowly
I like the new wheels. I assume you did not add any additional weight with new wider/larger tires?

Also, I thought you already purchased the Evo Rotors........no? A must for anyone on a quest to reduce unsprung weight.

Still running my Toyo Ra1s. That is why I had to get 18s instead of 19s.. As for the Evosport Rotors, I ordered them ... a long time ago... a really long time ago, and I am still waiting....

Thanks..That is a huge compliment.. The shop that installed the wheels thought they were chrome as well. If you look at my old stock wheels side by side with the HREs you will notice that there is a tint of black in the chrome stock wheels whereas the HRE silver polish wheels have a brighter finish. Literally you have to look at the two side by side because it is close..

Great wheels! Good choice. They do look like chrome. In person who do they compare to the look of chrome?

The stock ones were dipped in chrome. The HREs are just as shiny in the daylight.. Only someone who really knows the difference between chrome dipped and silver polish can tell..

245 in the rear???? Is that a typo? Why 245? Don't tell me you are also trying to save weight in the tires too sleeper X.... j/k

C21's ... copy cat

I think as we discussed in PM's those wheels are not only good on the eyes but great for performance, yours are that much lighter than mine!!

That is absolutey a typo.. Oops.. The rear tires are 275/35R18. But I wonder how much weight I could save by going to 245s in the rear..

Thanks for all the advise Vic. When I saw your wheels, the decision on what type to buy became a whole lot easier..
