Kev, I gave up on this "****" long time ago. This mate is truly truly too far down under-nicely put. If you go to the S55 forum you can find a post from a guy from SF who ordered 2003 S55 with all the new goodies and 500 horses engine all for $110k and he also said that price of S55 despite all the improovment is only slightly more so I just don't see how E55 would go up in price so much, this mate is insane.
I also read his posts and found nothing in them to enhance my expirience of driving my Benz therefore they are "unconstractive", what a ****/dufus from down under.

I give up you're right. The rest of the world has already seen a price rise on the new E55, based on real released prices, but because the US is so special this won't occur.
What have taxes etc got to do with a new models price increase. taxes have not changed between W210 and W211 E55 in Europe, NZ or Australia. They have all had a price rise on the E55 ONLY because MB increased the price full stop. What don't you understand about this?

For the last time the selling price of the W211 E55 in Germany is 75,500 euros not '87k'. 87,580 euro is the amount with 16% MwSt SALES TAX added.
AGAIN 87k EURO IS THE PRICE WITH THE 16% SALES TAX ADDED to 75,500!
75,500 euro is the list price, the selling price of the car and that equals $74,114 usd - Don't add the sales tax for us!

Stephens can you tell us what the price of the E55 before GST and LST are added? The price of $219,900 includes both Government Sales and Luxury Taxes.
This Information was found on the Australian Mercedes E55 webpage:
"* All prices are recommended Retail Prices inclusive of GST / LCT where applicable but not including Dealer Charges, Government Statutory Charges or optional equipment. Prices are current at the time of publication and subject to change without notice."
"* A 10% GST applies up to a list price of $51,826 and 35% GST/LCT (Luxury Car Tax) applies on any balance."

What an angry, misinformed, confused "****" from down under. I'll bet this mate was kicked by the kangaroo recently that is why the "****" from down under does not make any sence other than to himself.
I've seen this National Geographic film were another "****" form down under was kicked by the kanga, looked funny but the mate was on the groung confused about what just happaned, kind of like this one here.
Does anybody have the number of the mates down under being kicked by the kangas? I bet its more common than the problems on the new BMW 7. Anybody??

But you never know - Mercedes like all manufactors have to send every new model to the US for testing prior to selling required by DOT and EPA I believe, so there will be some W211 E55's driving around the US somewhere. That is how a car is certified prior to sell in the US.
