Brake Squeal, Again...

Hey Guys & Gals,

I love my E63. The paddle shifter, steering, handling, and of course, the power is excellent. But, the brake squeal is obnoxious and frustrating. It's awful enough for me to consider trading it for a non-AMG vehicle, like the E550 (but I believe they too have the same issue ).

Please, let me know what options I have to correct this brake squeal problem. I've already had the brake pads changed by the dealer, but that only relieved the issue for about 2-weeks.

Any suggestions/ideas are appreciated.

Drive it up to 70 and then slam on the brakes a few times. This should take care of the squeel.

I've been through this with MB a few times on brand new cars. The rotors are the problem...the dealer needs to replace them too, not just the pads.

2006 E55 AMG
The dealer replaced my rotors about 6 months ago and the tech property seated the pads. That took care of the problem for about 5 months. The squeal is back. The dealer said, that's the nature of these high performance brakes. I'm not happy either but am getting somewhat used to the noise.

Thank you all for your input.

I will try the 70-0 brake stomp and hope it works.

I've discussed the pad/rotor issue with the dealer and they will only go as far as changing the pads.

I get the same message about "high performance cars" will have these brake squeals from the dealer. I feel like my hands are tied since the owner's manual also notes the brake squeak is possible from these AMG cars.

It's really difficult to get used too unless my audio is so loud that it can drown out the squeal.

Your dealer sux...most will change pads and rotors at least once during the first 12000 miles.

If brake squeal was normal in these types of cars they'd all do it!!!!
