Just picked the car up from the dealer this past Monday.
Had the engine,tranny,ME software update flash performed. Holy Crap!! Don't know exactly what the heck they programmed but the car catapults off the line now.
Will be headed to E-town tomorrow if anyone interested.
have a very good feeling my string of 12.6's at 114's are about to end.

I am counting on you! Make sure you run dyno mode , launch of idle. Let the car cool to 75C. The refalsh is awesome as it sets the car to some real agressive shift points. Thank goodness you finally did this. Honestly you should run 12.3@116 of course if the DA is good.

Not to rain on your parade (no pun intended), but it is suppose to rain tonight. In addition, it is going to be about 85 degrees out. You might want to wait until next week. I was also considering going tonight, but given the forecast, I think I will wait.

My car had been starting in 2nd gear in 'S' since it was delivered. I always said this affected the performance off the line. The dealer (David Michael in NJ) shop manager knew exactly what I was talking about and said there were software updates not installed on my car. Took them about 2 hours to do. As far as which models are included..would figure(and this is just a guess) early production E63's...mine was an August '06 build.

If it doesn't rain why don't we meet up. As far as the high temp..I will be headed anyway...curious to see if any improvement in the 1/4...would be shocked if there isn't.

That's my point. You might not see an improvement due to the temperature change.

What time are you going down? My car is at the dealership getting an oil change (5th in 11k miles). I will pick it up tomorrow morning.

I will hold off till next Wednesday (6/13) if everyone agrees it is a better day. It is now 2:00 and in Staten Island the sky is overcast..sort of smells like rain.Will be a game time decision if I go or not. But I don't care if it is 100deg next Wed, I need to find out what she runs .

When you put the tranny in 'S' mode, switch the center info center to where the oil temp reads, it will have which gear you are in also. IF a number 2 is there you are starting in 2nd. The flash also alters the shift points and the throttle response significantly.

I hope that when you go with your E63 that someone brings their E55 with them so this way we can compare the 2 cars on the same track on the same day. And hopefully we can catch it on video.

My dealer is giving me BS on this. Saying the car should start in second gear in sport mode. What was the name of your dealership in NJ so I can tell the service manager to give them a call. Thx man

I just talked to the service mananger. He said he wont get back to me till Monday. I talked to a service advisor before and he said the car should start in second gear in sport mode. The service manager agreed with me though so lets see what he says. This is going to be a LONGGGGG weekend.

It should ABSOLUTELY start in 1st in 'S" mode. Dealer is uneducated with the situation. 8/06 build date.
