Replacement wheel for E63 030

The vibration in my car is due to a bent rim (on inside so i couldn't see it). I can't find them anywhere (Tire Rack, etc.) and the dealer is trying to get a price. Anyone know someplace that would carry it?

Thx.

heh

Expect to shell out over 2k for 1 Rim. My 030 rims were 2500 a piece from the dealer.

If I were you ... I'd take a hit and buy a set of GOOD rims. Not only will they be much stronger but much lighter.

Besides the Tire Rack, what are good places for replacement wheels (if I were going to do all 4)? After seeing the post above by SLK55R I am not a happy camper.
Thx.

I know of a source in LA, where i got my '07 SL550 rears. Tire rack lags on having OEM models. The dealer will rape you. The street price will be about $1000.

Did you bend the wheel? It would have been a bump that you noticed. Those are NOT very low profile tires, so I would consider forcing the dealer to replace it at their cost.

If you want to go aftermarket, I do recommend HREs and both vendors mentioned in the above post have great customer service. Too bad you aren't in san Diego, because we get the extra special treatment.

recommendations

Others have already recommended HRE so I"ll skip that one.

Carlsson UL's

Renntech Monolites

Fiske

Kinesis

I think of these 4, Carlsson's are the most expensive. I think all of these are extremely strong and light rims. I have personal experience with the carlsson's and renntechs.

You name some great wheels. Why I did not go with them is that those brands do not make an aggressive, performance oriented fit for the E.

By the way, Kinesis is no longer, and they are now a "flash" type rim, rather than an economical option. Too bad.

Thanks to all for the info I appreciate it. I'm going to wait to see what the dealer says before doing anything. they already said that it is not covered as the rim is bent. I did hit a pothole just after a small hill in a mall parking lot following another car. I didn't see anything but when i went on the highway..... I have gone over much worse with no damage so i was shocked. I went back to the lot after seeing the dealer and a store that leases space is going to have the Landlord contact me. They seemed to take it seriously. Nothing to lose.

I would love to do that but don't see under what concept. MB's warranty does not extend to damage from physical damage. If you know a way pls LMK.

Thx.
