Tire problems on the E63?
Tire problems on the E63?
Is any one else having any shimmy or warped rotor type problems with their 63?
The dealership replaced my front right tire two weeks ago because it was pulling to the right. Now it has a shimmy between 65-72, and when you put on the brakes the wheel has a noticeable shake to it. Every warped rotor problem I ever had was felt in the pedal and not in the steering wheel.
It is in the shop again today and they are going to replace the front left. At least I don't have to shell out the $$ for new front tires any time soon.
Oh, they also have to replace the right rear wheel because some one fron another dealership ran into it with a golf cart the last time it was there. That is their story and they are sticking to it. Hey, new wheel, so what the hell.

I am not familiar with the stock tires they put on the 07 63's.
Maybe it was just a bad batch!! Hmmmm... I think those guy's know how to produce tires. They have been doing it for quite a while.
I think we are going to be test dummies until they figure this out. Hopefully, it will be on their dime and time until they do.
I will probably pick mine up on Thursday and we shall see. I am going to be on this like a coat of paint until they figure it out.
I will keep you posted. Please keep me in your loop if you hear some thing on yours.

When I first test drove my 06E55 with 12 miles on the odo it had a problem with a brake shimmy and they replaced all four pads and rotors before I actually took delivery of the car; while there I paid for 4 new Michelin PS2's and kept the Conti's as spares. MB needs to step up to a better quality tire for the AMG cars IMHO.
Mine started fairly soon after I got mine too. The tech said that the conti tires were a little cold blooded and that they had to come to true after a few miles. Being old school that I am, I bought it. I don't drive the car every day, so I was not able to really see it as a consistant problem. I am new to AMG,
and so I do not claim to know much about them, or their typical problems.
I do believe that when you lay down that sort of $$, it ought to be right.

No such problems here after 9 months. Had a little shimmy initially with the stupid contis but that got better as they heated up. As you let it cool down, it would do it again. Heard that these tires typically get flat spots when cold and sitting. Mine have been fine for the last 7 months. Only have 7500 miles and since no probs, am waiting to upgrade around 10,000 miles. Bridgestones or PS2, who knows. Maybe the dealer will give you guys 'better' tires since you are having issues. Ask them. May save them time and money since they won't have to keep messing with your cars....
The last report on mine is that they are going to replace the rotors and order some replacement suspension parts. ???? They can not figure out where the shimmy is coming from.
This is really dragging on. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon.
I will keep you posted as to what they find.
