Question E55 colors

I am new to this board coming over from the BMW M5 board.
I recently placed a deposit on the new W211 E55 and am curious if anyone knows what colors the new E55 will be available in if any beyond the previous Black or Silver. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Thumbs up European Colors

Mr Janne: Thanks for the reply! Were all these colors available on the the previous E55 in Europe too? or were you limited to the Silver or Black as in North America/U.S??

Is there a specific color you're looking for?

Ummm, have you tried going to mbusa.com and building one? You can see all the colors there. They actually have, I think, four blacks -- black (nonmetalic), Obsidian Black, Opal Black, and "Melanite" sp? black.

I want to know what the new metalic black looks like. I think it's called melanite black or something with an "m"

I don't understand the difference between this and Obsidian Black.

Melanite Black is Jade Black is Melanite Black. Unlike Black Opal it appears as black except in direct sunlight, when it is a very deep dark green. I think it a very attractive color and ordered my E55 in it.

Upon ordering my '04 E55, I also discovered that Tectite grey no longer exists, and has been replaced by "Granite grey." I don't know if these two are supposed to be the same ...

Kaneman - TKU.

Obsidian has a red tint? Opal black really a dark blue hue?

KrispyK - I can't believe that. Tectite was definitely high on my list of colors to get. Did they say what the difference would be.

I think Granite Grey was a designo color... or perhaps only on the S class. Either way I've seen it and like it even better than Tectite. And yep, Melanite and Jade are the same color. The code is even the same (185).

Obsidian black has no red tint.
Mine is obsidian and it's just plain black with (non-hued) metallic particles.
