Just read up on this, forget gearing this is one serious competitor. They are increasing their factory ponnies to 540..

i hope that's accurate...maybe those bmw guys will finally have a car to relieve their inferiority complex (but i doubt it). unfortunately i don't see any real truth in that blurb so we'll have to wait and see.

That is true, but is also irrelevant. The 5L engine has plenty of volume and could produce plenty of torque down low if the engineers who designed it had desired it (the E39 M5's 5.0L V8 produced max torque at 3800 rpm)...the reason they don't have a low torque peak is due entirely to their decision to have a stratospheric 8,250 rpm redline, which necessitates a high torque peak.

that may be but it was faster than a kleemann k4 car stock and now its got 40 more hp.

I dont see much of a lack of torque. I see a seriously quick car any way your skin that fish.

I agree.. even with 500hp and no torque, M6 is capable of 116mph trap speeds and will pull 55's from 100mph+ no problem. This new 540hp M6 should be a low 12 second car easy with a top end to match
