How much does the dealer want to charge you to replace your brakes? And which one is it? I'm also interested in finding a cheap (but good) person to install brakes.

For our 202 we use MotorSpeed West in Santa Clara. Ken and Bill have been in biz for over 20 years and only work on MB, BMW, and Volvo. Very honest and reasonable. The shop is def not like the dealership but they do a ton of biz and the quality of their work is top notch.

Another way to approach repairs such as these is if you have a great relationship with your SA and I mean great! Ask if he or she know's if any of the tech's would be willing to do a side job. I know of a guy at BMW that can get parts at cost and charge you half the labor of the dealership. I also know of a guy that does the same for Honda/Acura.

It's not what you know....... it's who you know!

Just recently I had my front brakes done on the side by tech at a MB dealership. MB wanted $1100, it was done for $650. Not sure if this is the greatest price but keeping him happy was key for me, very mod friendly. Both my service advisor and tech are great people and customer service is excellent.

not 100% sure but i know the pads were replaced & rotors were ok, i would assume that if needed the sensors would have been replaced as well
i would also think if you had the hook up you would pay about the same for your 55 as Bassn07 did for his.
