next generation E 63 to produce 525hp
Too early to tell but some experts claim next generation E63 will have around 525hp. We still have good two years before new E hits the market. check out some spy shots and the rest of the article.

Great article. Can't wait to see the new beast. That is perfect timing too cause by the time my lease is up they'll have worked out the initial kinks. I like that fact that they say they're working more on the chasis to make it more responsive, maybe that means we'll get a sportier ride.

The M5 is rumored to be tuned up to 550bhp while the forthcoming RS6 will have 565bhp, according to Autocar.
I find it hard to believe the next gen. E63 won't be more powerful than 525bhp. If it's not, then I don't see too many buyers.
Regardless, the RS6 is where my deposit's going as AWD is becoming more and more of an asset as power climbs towards 600bhp.

Hm. I wonder what transmission they'll put in the twin-turbo SL. The seven speed won't handle it in present form. I wonder if they'll keep using the 5 speed in our E55's. Doubt it. It'd be great if they find a way to make the 7 speed handle a twin turbo 6 liter mill...

imho, this can't be correct as an 18hp jump seems pointless. current 63 owners could fart and get those gains.

Mercedes is the best at this game. Everybody **** the bed when the 55k's made 560+ lbs of torque. NOT expected.
Bet the next-gen AMG's will be TTV8's. Smaller than the 6.2 liter to handle boost. It'll likely be a 6.0 liter TT V8. E60 AMG??
Plus with mercedes' methodology of throwing essentially the same drivetrain in every AMG with few exceptions, it will be easy to control the power differences between the cars through rudimentary ECU tuning. The E gets less boost than the S and SL, everybody who buys them is happy, until the E guys go buy chips and rape the lot of them.

I'll have to try this the next time that I go to the track. I seems like it would be a cheap/no-cost mod (especially after certain types of food).

Next generation E63
I wouldn't be surprised to see the next generation E63 get a de-tuned version of the upcoming 2011 Gullwing's twin-turbo 6.2 liter motor. The first Gullwing motor will produce 750 PS and a later version is rumored to have an output of 1000 PS. A twin-turbo 6.2 liter with an output of 650 PS in the new E63 is very possible. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a naturally aspirated 6.8 liter motor producing between 580 to 600 PS. No one knows for sure but it's sure fun to anticipate.
