LMAO!!! You better confirm that. They probably test drove your car and felt the surge and figured it was a problem with the crank pulley. I have never hear of anyone replacing the supercharger pulley.

i mentioned about the belt slippage, but it was due to the supercharger clutch and the pulley according to my tech~my car is alot smoother at the same time~

if anybody has a used E55 and you your kompressor clutch has not been replaced, I would jump on this.

tried to get my clutch pack replaced and the dealer told me the dtb didn't apply because of my mods...say what??? what do my mods have to do with a dtb that addresses a known issue on all cars. i reminded them that i had been complaining about the chirp loooong before my mods accidentally found their way onto my car and had the work order history to prove it. they're now "reconsidiering" but i'm not holding my breath.

this is the first time they've thrown the mods in my face about anything. i thought i saw a new service manager in there so that may be the cause.

my dealer did my mods. the service manager is my friend. but, he won't mod anyone else. anyhow, i was told no warranty sc clutch upgrade because mb usa will not reimburse the dealer. mb claim it is not a warranty problem and will usually stick it back to the dealer when it is submitted.

Yeah, I had my 2005 clutch AND entire blower replaced along with the pump. Dropped it off due to loss of power (they ignored prior chirp complaints) and got her back with a completely new blower. Shocked but sure enough no more chirp.

So, is this daimler tech bulletin an order for dealers to replace affected clutch packs with the 2006 version? Or just on request, or what? What does the bulletin mean exactly? Thanks.

A DTB (Daimler Technical Bulletin) is similar to a TSB (Technical service Bulletin). They are simply guidance documents intended to assist the techs in diagnosing a problem faster and more accurately. It is at the discretion of the service group as to if a particular customer syptom fits that description.
I usually take a printed copy of it in with me, since it has the key words that are used. You simply hand them the DTB and say the symptoms and that is usually all it takes.
Get a friendly SA/Tech.
