put it this way my friend has a cls63 and when we ran with ecu and exhaust we would run neck and neck 1st and 2nd gear and at the end of third i would have at least a car length if that and fourth for sure 1-2 car lengths. but now in 1 and second i pull a car length and by the end of third two to three car lengths and at the end of fourth four to five. it's a beast.
i also raced my friends fully modded e55 "headers, pulley, cams, throttle body, straight pipes ecu and and 2nd gear pull i got him by 1/2 a car length, 3rd a car plus some and fourth two car lengths. he claims his car dynos 540 at the wheels "i'm not sure i believe it because my car should have not beaten him that bad. but as you've seen the kleeman e55 against the m6 the m6 was very strong in the top end.

think about it...hp and gear box advantage goes to m6 while the weight advantage goes to z06. so with "the average z06 driver" i think a lightened and modded m6 vs bone stock c6 z06 would be a race that could go either way.

And that car won't be a benchmark, it'll just be the car that nobody even brings up when comparing cars because it will be virtually unbeatable.

But then again I fail to see why people compare our AMG’s to the likes of the ZO6. Our cars are not designed bottom up to be sport cars, theirs are. Apples and oranges I believe, is the phrase commonly used.
(Cost, purpose, need, and usage) those are what I go by

Oh ok. From what I've been hearing...the LS2 engine is being replaced by a new LS3 engine (436 horsepower) and the new Z07 is going to have a supercharger version of the LS7 engine.
I'm sure that Chevy will find a way (and so will driver's like Ranger) to get the power down. If Ranger got the Z06 into the 10's, maybe this car (with DR's and all) can break into the 9's? Probably not but very very low 10's are definitely possible. And these cars are freaks, so who knows?
The negatives of this car: Its hard to justify spending 100 grand on a Chevy.
Positives: Fastest car in the world for only 100 grand, period.
I bet Chevy will have no problem selling these cars.
