battery key
do i need to goto the dealership to get a new battery for my key?
i keep getting the warning when i start the car with the keyless go that my battery life on the key is dying of something to that effect.

naw, really easy to take out. take out your glove box key and with it press on the grey part of your key. (the inner part of where u took out ur key) the batteries should just pop out. You can go to rite aid or any market and they should have the battery. if you need more help i can take pictures for you.

I got the same msg and when I removed the batteries and tested the voltage,
they were both @ 2.9v. Considering they're 3 volt batteries, seemed like a premature warning to me.

well... theres no real keyless-go battery from what i understand, just a pair of regular CR2025 3Volt batteries in each key. The same as in non-keyless go keys...
They should last for several years, depending of course on how much they are used...

Well I thought is was interesting that my keyless batteries went out a few days after reading this post. There are actually 2 batteries that go in the Keyless Go key. My car was manufactured in 11/06 so the batteries lasted about 8 months. Not bad. The display had the warning "replace batteries" when I got off work. I jetted over to Radio Shack and the salesperson replaced the two batteries in about 5 minutes for $10.83. The same batteries at the stealer are over $40.00.

i have keyless go in my 06 and need to change the batteries almost every 8months... The first time I took it to the stealer, it was some outrageous number (like $40) for the same batteries you can pick up at walgreens, CVS, etc.
