E63 fog light

I just noticed my passenger side fog light glass cover cracked but is still functional. Anyone replace the fog light assembly/fixture? How difficult would it be for a do-it-yourself?

The fixture costs ~$200 from the dealer. Not sure what the install will cost.

Thanks for any information/input.

I wish it was. The lens is clearly cracked from a rock.

I lost one of mine the first week i had the 63. I had them replace it when the first oil change came up. They only charged me for the light assembly and no labor. I think it ran about 200.00 for the light.

TO answer the question:

It is easy to replace. You will remove the 3 screws that hold the plastic "mesh" surround from the foglight and pull it straight off. You will then remove the 4 screws that hold the foglight in and pull it straight out, unplug the cable from the bulb, then reverse the procedure to put it back in.

Simple hand tools and it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

A tip to keep them from cracking in the future is to have them covered with clear-bra. The only downside to this is that if you use the fogs all the time (which you shouldn't), the clear-bra material can curl. If you don't, it will save the lights from 99% of rocks that can crack them.

I have a cracked one also. Has anyone replaced their E63 fog light(s) with an aftermarket brand? If yes which brand?

I can across this pair with Hella bulbs on ebay for $80.85 shipped.

Wondering if anyone else picked this set up before. Good/no good?
