Last night 1/4 mile testing !!!
I went to test my beast list night to local 1/4 course...It nothing special just regular airport payment, no preparetion or clue...
Last time I dynoed...it has just ASP pullies, Headers Primary Cats, Secodaries still on, E.race mufflers...It was quite cold a round 41 F and car pulled on DynoDynamic machine 620.9 HP at the crank and 900 Torgues...
My car has ASP pullies, Kleemann style headers, no cats, E.Race mufflers, VRP TB, VRP Wrap kit, PTE stat, K&Ns, airtubes and airboxes covered with thermotec...So I hope I have around 650 HP at the crank NOW...wit extra TB and Wrap kit...
I am runing 19's Carlsson Ultra Light wheels with 285/30 Yoko Advan tyres at the back...
Last I went to track and temp was around 82F...1st run was Kleemann K4 (Small pullies, Headers, 200cell Cats, mufflers, TB and CAMS) with full Kleemann Exhausts (Kleemann dealers car), Kleemann claim it pulls around 640 HP and 900 Torgues...He is runing stock 18 wheels with 265 tyres...
Lights green, we are off, I 1st on throtle, getting better reaction times, pulled 1-1.5 cars on him, then he slowly starts to catch UP
...I though I would kill him but I only beat by half a hood...
Is it his CAMs and 265 tyres working and my 285/30 on 19 working against ME ??? As the speed would rise he would definately slowly pass ME...
So this brings ME to a quiestion...HE doesnt have wrap kit, so he should be lossing boost at WOT and his belt should be spinning and he is actually catching UP
...that not good, I thought I would run much better on TOP now with TB and Wrap kit...So I start to get paranoyed, I even get this in my dream last night
May something is WRONG, am I loosing POWER somewhere or I need to go back to 275/30...
We both did 12.8...but my 12.8 was low and his was high... Our track is like regular road about about 500 feet above sea-level...and it was quite HOT///
The other thing tha5t shocked ME and made a sleepless night ( I mean day, since I came back 5.30 in the morning) is that I runned was another E55 which has my ECU, Headers, no Cats and should have around 550HP and 800 Torgues...and he was running lightweight 18s wheels with Perrelli slicks (for track) 225/40 or 45 I think...and I was shocked when I got I jump and pulled hard on him about 2 cars 1st and then he slowly started to catch UP and we went dead even at the finish...and he acually had better times then ME 12.5...

Starting to think the ASP pulley'd car dies a horrible death as those IAT's (heat) shoot through the roof.
Other than that, so many variables, it's hard to even know where to start.
Do you have any type of ECU tune?? Definitely want the VRUS ECU tune.....best part of it (from what I hear) is that it really tinkers with the timing vs IAT variables. As your heat came on last night, I bet timing starting pulling.
Last thing, do you have OBDII unit, if not, it's time to order and run some tests on those IAT's etc.
Sorry bout the trouble. We'll get it figured out.

Russ i have said it a million times you could modify the crap out of your car:::if you dont have the proper cooling to run that monstrous ASP pulley your car will die man: the heat produced kills the car; your IATs must be really high: do you have aftermarket cooling?
in the kleeman car; they have cams and let me tell you that will definitely make the car run upstairs like a freight train:: keep me posted:

Some more later...yes I've orded IC mod...it should be ready in 2 weeks...
Stock S600 runned high mid 14th last night...
Could those small tyres of 550HP E55 cause 100HP and 100 Torgues difference ???

I continue...
In 1/4 final I runned against LPE ZO6 616 HP with 345 tyres...
Killed it off the line, everybody was shocked, ASP pullies really pull hard from the bottom, till 1/8 I was in front, then he caught up and pulled hard on ME...runned low 12s...
The most inportant thing that worried ME is that before when I had just ASP pullies, Headers, no CATS and E.race...and I had the same results, so I wonder am I loosing POWER somewhere ??? Cause with TB and Wrap Kit and was expecting to do better then this
...
May TB is giving ME extra power and wrap kit is loosing it, if I recall correctly one member reported he lost 30RWHP, same what TB adds, so with all the tuning and the money spent I am the same power level LOL...Cause times didnt chaged much...When it was like 60F I was runing 12.5 with 275 tyres and 12.6 with 285 without extra TB and wrap kit...Now its hotter but I should have extra at least extra 30 HP at the wheels and still should run the time I runned previously![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)

Get a laptop and get any of available OBDII programms. I use www.nology.com, and data log your runs.
Do not guess, see exactly what is going on.
Otherwise, you are going to have a lot more sleepless days.

You need cooling ASAP. Lighter 18" wheels with drag radials will help alot too especially since you're runing on a nonprepped street ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Thanks...like I said cooling is on the way...
In a meanwhile I get OBDII and test and may be remove Wrap kit and see how the car performs without it...
If I going to get DR then I will 17 MT ET street 265/40/...

Before you remove/add anything, please try some data-logging.
You will get a much clearer picture of what direction to take, rather than a trial-and-error approach.
My gut feeling is that you are losing power up top from the ECU due to insufficient cooling, but that is only a guess without the data.
A data logger will shed some light on the problem.

the other popular data logger is autotap but imo the autoenginuity is much better. it also comes with software to allow you to use it like a gtech accelerometer and within a relatively short time (1-2yrs) will allow you to read all the starscan properties (to bad it won't be able to write to them!!!). they're only $199 online or from ebay.
