New shoes just in time (pic)

So, I knew my car was getting thin in the back, so I ordered new Sport Contact 2's from Discount Tire 3 weeks ago. (I want PS2's, but the fronts still have a lot of tread, so I didn't want to toss out 2 good tires. I'll get PS2's when I have to replace all 4 at once)

Anyway, Discount was taking forever to get these tires. They finally did today. I went in and WOW, I'm glad I got them today.
Here is a pic of my old tires. The E55 has a tendency to do this. lol

I was only sad b/c I had planned on doing some heavy donuts and burn outs on my old tires before replacing them and making a funny vid, but oh well. There was no way I'd do that on these tires... I would likely have blown one.

Just replaced mine with the Conti Sport Contact 3's....my OEM Conti SC 2's were in the same shape (cord showing and all) as yours....and I was planning to do the same "meltdown" before changing and then thought twice when I looked under there.....I did get 16,700 miles from them though

I did a number of burnouts on the Contis the night before I was replacing mine. Came out the next morning to take it to the tire dealer and had to have it flat-bedded to the store because the belts blew through. Pushed it just a little too far and in hindsight was thankful to have made it home.

Had same symtoms...heavy foot! When I arrived to my office last friday a saw right back was low on pressure and the metal cord was out

I called the tire guy but couldn't find the lockbolt key...had to ruin the lock nut and worse is, haven't found it yet so have to damage rest of them to.

Also found out that pressure sensors are missing...Need 8 of them now

I was running stock pressure. It's really not that uneven of wear in my experience. The wear was mostly in the very center of both tires. When tires get that low, they definitely wear there faster.

Interesting obvservation though. Thanks.

Thanks! That makes me feel a lot better that I didn't do it myself. I was soooo close to doing it.
