Just for sh*ts and giggles I inquired what it would cost to rent New England Dragway for the day, so we did not have to share it with the world. The owner said they were booked up pretty far in advance, but would rent it for $5000 for a day if we wanted to do a private event there... that comes with strip prep, announcer, ambulance, attendants, etc. I assume there are not enough psychos in the Boston area to make this viable, but if 40 of us got together, we are talking pretty short money for a nice strip - 125 each. I thought I'd float it out there to check interest, but if 40+ people are interested, I think Subaru usually rents for Fathers day and is not doing so for 08. The owner implied June 8th, but I think fathers day is June 15th. Let me know if you are interested and I'll pursue it and lock in a date. I'd probably want to set up a paypal acct once we got a bit closer.
