Old thread I know.. Sorry.
I'm thinking of doing a dry setup. I have a nx express wetkit I bought, but it seems others are using the dry kit with luck.
Will it be ok to run just the nitrous solenoid with a .25 jet and split it with a y and plumb 2 dry nozzles at the bottom of the air filter boxes before the maf sensors?

If your currently plumbed for the wet system, just undo the gas side of the system that goes to your gas solenoid.
you can continue to use the Piranha nozzle with just the nitrous shooting through it, just make sure you have it before the MAF, and have a set in each airbox.
Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.

I too am thinking about spraying my C63. However I'm considering a modest 50 wet shot, using a standalone 1 gal fuel cell in the trunk with unleaded race gas.
I see most people are using dual nozzles, is there any reason I couldn't use a single nozzle like a Piranha right where it comes to a Y?
Also, I've been reading about potentail pooling issues when running a wet shot of nitrous. With certain safety equipment installed, can a nitrous setup be made 100% idiot proof, or are there still ways pooling can occur if you're not using your head?

Thanks James, I appreciate your help. I found some dry 90 degree nozzles I think I'm going to use. I will call you if you don't mind and get your idea on what I am thinking.

I have the system plumbed and wired, I'm getting some custom hoses made to split the hose after the solenoid to go to each air box. I have a couple of questions.
1. Is it ok to spray through the air filter?(I was thinking of putting the nozzles in the bottom of the air box so it could be concealed) If not, I guess I could remove the airfilters for the drag day.
2. I thought the jet went in the end of the solenoid. I found out it goes in the nozzle. Since I have 2 nozzles should I split the shot from .26 /2 to two .13 jets? or is 75 hp attained with using 2 .26 jets??
Thanks in advance.

Your putting your own system in? Please update with pics when your done. I was thinking about the doing this to my car, but I was told to use a progressive controller to release the nitrous.

I'm just goint to spray in 3rd gear and above. The progressive would be nice.
My system is hidden very nicely. In the trunk you can remove the spare tire and it fits perfectly. Relay and wires can be hidden under the drivers front cover by the master cylinder. The only wires that need to be ran inside can go in through the door jamb by the top of the fender and then under the dash. My arming switch and go button are under the dash and then I uncoil the button when I need it.
I put the solenoid on the passengers side front behind the headlight. The nitrous braided hoses match the abs module hoses so its hardly noticed.

I'm going with a very basic system. No electric bottle opener. I'm having a track meet next week and want to have fun with one of the guys there.
I'll take some pics.

MBWorld Fanatic!
so a dry 50-75shot is relatively safe for these cars? or would a single wet shot with the nozzle at the Y with a fuel cell be better?
Which NX PN # am I looking at and the gen-x accessories too, which one? If I don't choose the progressive controller, is the system then activated manually or at WOT? thanks

2007 E63 AMG
sorry to resurrect an old thread, but has anyone done much with nitrous on an E63? I figured even a small dry shot would bring the additional benefit of colder intake air, aside from the additional oxygen.
Anyone done a dry setup just plumbed into the intake tubes/air boxes?
