The E55 and S430 price factors!
The 2002 S430 base price was $71,850 and the 2002 E55 base price was $71,350.
The S430 was only $500, yes only $500 more than the E55.
The 2003 S430 base price is $72,600 therefore the W211 E55 could be estimated close to $72,100.
The S430 increased only 1% or $750 for 2003. If the E55 increases 1% that would be $72,063.50 so lets round up to my above 'guesstimate' of $72,100.

Hopefully the price stays around there. But the E55 has been completely updated, whereas the S430 is basically the same car.
If you want to compare price increases, look at the S55 and S600. I believe they each went up at least 5K.

I don't know if year on year price increases apply here, especially with the additional hp. Look at the price differences with the s/c and brakes:
SL500 at $86,665 and the SL55 at $113,915, a difference of $27,250.
And the:
S500 at $81665 and the S55 at 107,165, a difference of $25,500.
Apply that to the E500 at $55,515 and you've got $81,015 to $82,765 at the most for an E55.
That is still a better deal compared to adding a s/c to the price of my 55. At 72k for almost 500hp, an E55 would probably be the best bang for the buck of any car on the planet.

So this 'estimated' price of $72,500 or so is getting more and more probable - at least for me anyway. Not many supporters of my $72/73ish price estimate.
