Friday Night fun

Here's a vid of my best run of the night a couple of weeks ago...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-poEvEsuIs

60' 1.89
1/4 mile 12.32
ET 114.23
Temp 55 F
Headwind 15 - 20 MPH
Michelin PS2's @ 31 lbs
Sport mode
ESP on
No Preload
Stock '05 E55

This was my second time drag racing. Had 6 runs during the course of the night. All but one were 12.3 to 12.5. My first run the adrenaline was pumping, ESP was off and I lit 'em up for a whopping 13.4.

Not sure if I can do much better than this running stock. Any input would be great as I am supposed to run with BTPOWER in a couple of weeks (11.9 in a modded M5). Should be fun.

PS Sorry about the Wife's cheese commentary

Wife/Girlfriend commentary is just classic.

"Okay, he's back against (looks at blower sticking out of tubbed car) ohhhh dearrrr, look at that guy"

She did great and so did you!!

Least they didn't line you up against a 8.99 dragster. Headers on it pretty much faced straight at me so when it launched I just bout pi$$ed my pants.

They are pretty good about lining up similar cars at this track and will make extremely dissimilar vehicles run separate. However, I did run against a pickup with a turbodiesel that was unbelievable down low. He took off and I sat there like holy S*&T! My reaction time was a 1.6 or something. He ended with a 12.79 and an ET of 103. I fortunately finished with a 12.5, but he beat me. It amazes me some of the things people bring to these things.

Do you think I can get a little more outta the car? I know the 60' time is key, but on stock tires am I able to do any better? My fastest trap speed of the night was 114.8 and we did have a headwind.

grocery getter
Hey Wolverine,

Don't worry about the M, the AMG is 1/4 mile king.

Great looking ride and I love the commentary too. Like you, I am a novice when it comes to drag racing but I would think you could get a little bit better 60' time by lowering your tire psi. It may hurt your trap speed a bit but may help your ET.

I went to Grattan Raceway last week with a private group and THAT was fun (not for my tires though). Next time I go I will let you know and we will bomb down Grattan in our grocery getters. On a side note, there was a guy there from the Detroit area with a month old 997 GT3 who met a tree and the tree won. I later found out that is was considered "totaled".

Hopefully see you later in the month...
