Off Topic-California to Florida
Hi,
Planning a visit to the USA early next year and i want to drive from Vegas to Miami-Florida.
How long will this take in an average SUV?
Is it at all a recommended trip to do?
Also a trip from Miami to New York.
Will be end Feb to Mid March, around 18 days.
Please Advise.

Las Vegas (which is in Nevada, did you mean Los Angeles?) to Miami is 38 hours of non-stop driving or 2532 miles. Figure 500 miles is a reasonable days drive to take in at least a couple hours of sights, I'd say it is a 5 full day drive.
If you have less than three weeks, I would not do it.
Miami to New York is 1300 miles or 20 hours. A solid 3 full day trip.
So you would be spending 8 of your 18 days in the SUV. 9 if you really meant LA.
The US is HUGE. Fly.

At this point of the year would any main roads be snowed out?

Nah, if you are going from Vegas to Miami, you wouldn't run into snow this time of year. Not sure any time of the year. You'll be pretty much be traveling on the Southern part of the US.
MUST STOPS, would be
In Arizona, Grand Canyon. It just will take your breath away.
New Mexico...very famous for different sands like White Sands Park
You'll be driving through THE ENTIRE state of Texas which will blow you away how large it is. Not much happening on the West side, but then you will go through San Antonio and Houston, you'll have lots to see and do.
After that you drive close to the Gulf Of Mexico coastline so there are lots of things to do and see from New Orleans to Pensacola and then on into the main part of the Sunshine state.
Only advice I can give you is that in the Western US ...in states like AZ, New Mexico and West Texas, the roads can be pretty desolate so use your maps and fill up on gas before major long stretches of road. Not uncommon to drive for hours without seeing signs of life in these parts. Some parts won't even have radio reception which is a little creepy.
Enjoy the US, amazing how much different the country is from state to state.

It is a very long drive for sure and if you take the direct route you'll miss the good stuff. If you hit all the good spots 18 days isn't enough in my opinion. I'd fly around to the hot spots if you can. If you make it to Florida pm me, I can show you around a little bit. Lots to do in Florida
Enjoy your trip.
