E55 in the snow

Is the raise button good to use on an uneven surface (likew snowstorm). I use it only on high curbs or when there is risk for contact at slow speeds. I thought if you raise the car and drive for a long time on shocks that are at their maximum height that this would not be good for them. Am I wrong in thinking this?

I've driven mine for 3 winters...one in Indiana and 2 in West Michigan...WITHOUT snow tires
There have only been a couple of times when it was a white knuckle issue. With snow tires I have heard it does just fine. Give me the safety of the beast any day.
