Considering selling...

I really like the E55, but my car ADD (attention deficit disorder) is kicking in...

Those who know me, know this is my M.O. Anyway, I'm not 100% sure I'm going to sell, but if I did would this be a fair price?

2005 E55
Flint/Black (w/ the black wood)
26,500 miles
Pretty fully loaded

NAV
Satellite
Keyless Go
Dynamic/Active seats
Heated/Ventillated seats
Rear Sunshades
Tinted Windows

New Rear tires... fronts are about half way worn.

Warranty through Oct 2009

Thinking $56,000 asking price.

Fair?

LOL. You're one who knows me.

I'm really not sure I'm going to do it b/c I love this car, so I don't have a plan.
I'm more or less fishing and info gathering... if I find something I like, I may do this.

Part of me is leaning back towards another Porsche. (maybe 996TT if I can swing it w/ my wife)

Scott, I'm in the same boat. I get bored with cars, even if I like them. I've been casually listing my E55 for sale for a couple weeks. Nothing serious, just throwing out some feelers to see if anyone bites. I'd like to get another convertible - just not sure what that will be.

Good luck with your sale and keep us posted on what you get next.

Thanks all.

btw, I'm considering a covertable as well... maybe a 996TT. I dunno really... I'm just fishing at this point.

(I hate to say it but another possibility is the new M3) I really don't know.

Do you think my asking price is fair?

I have thoughts of an SL600, 997 Cab (non turbo), Viper SRT-10. Like I said, I'm not sure what I want. I don't need anything practical or fast - I have those covered by other things (twin turbo Z06, pickup, wife's SUV) - that's why I was thinking of a 'vert. I want something I'm not going to see coming and going everyday, either. That's why a Viper interested me. They aren't practical, aren't really that fast, but they are rare around here.

As far as price, I posted mine up in a couple of place @ $64k. Mine is a 2006 w/25k miles, loaded up - white w/pano - but totally stock.

Based on the ads on cars.com and autotrader, I think I'm giving a pretty good offer. Anyway, you and I may have been seperated at birth.

I would consider $56k a very fair price. I paid $66k recently for 2006 E55, loaded, with only 9k miles. The challenge might be the color; Flint strikes me as "either love or hate it" type of color, just as with my dark maroon red.

good luck and keep us posted.

To make sure we're apples to apples, that '06 was in a minor fender bender. The owner has a thread on it here on this board. That's why his price is so good. If I were buying, I wouldn't let the fender bender sway me... the car is NICE, but that's why his asking price is lower.

Aye. Don't let your father drive your new powerful toys. He'll find something to bump into with it. Like a small pole.

Yeah, I saw that... that just sucks. But it wasn't that bad luckily. Anyway, I know it hurts to see your "baby" marked up.

If I was in the market, I don't think I'd let that issue sway me from the car since it's such a great deall!

Yeah it was just cosmetic thankfully. It was brand new though, I was so mad. He felt bad and had it professionally fixed to factory new to try to atone. It's funny looking back, it just scared the tar out of him when he hit the gas. He didn't even make it to the end of his drive. I think he'll be glad to see it gone so I can't hold it over his head anymore. On second thought, maybe I should keep it.....

I actually feel worse for him than you.
I'm sure he'll be glad when it's sold. He probably feels bad that you're having to offer at such a reduced price though.

Scott,

Price sounds fair, do you still have the Lotus?
Have you seen this Audi in H town?

I might try the V10 model when it comes out.

I don't have the Lotus. I bought that for road racing purposes mainly, and have come to realize that until my daughter gets quite a bit older, my road racing days are very limited and it's not worth owning a $50K car for that hobby.
It was a lot of fun to have, but I never used it. I can't take my daughter in it, and I rarely wanted to drive it to work when I was by myself.

I am interested in a Porsche again just because I like 'em, I have car ADD, and on the once a year occasion that I can make a DE, the Porsche is ideal for that.

We'll see what happens with this E55. I may end up just keeping it. As I said, I have some reservations on selling it b/c I really like it... especailly now that the weather is cooling down.

I haven't seen that Audi. It looks bad @ss.

That was one helluva thread hijack.

Scott, If you haven't already, why don't you mod it. I fell in love with mine all over with the new pully and minor cooling mods.

Yeah, that's an option. My interest in selling comes from more of a total car switch... 4 door beast to 2 door sports car, than just the car itself... I still love the car itself and driving it. I don't even feel like it needs a mod.
