Oil Issues ... Again

About 3 weeks ago I brought in my car for service and explained to the service people that for the 5th time an oil warning was issued. The car had 7500 miles on it. It has been doing this repeatedly every 1500 miles, loosing 1/2 quart of oil. MB service decided to run an oil consumption test, and I was to drive the car for 1000 miles before another oil check was done. Additionally they said there was a leak in the seals around the line heading for the oil cooler, but that was not the real problem. They fixed it and I went on my way.

After driving about 600 miles I found spots on my driveway, first dismissing them as water, but then realizing it was oil (..I have pavers and that is another issue). I bring the car back and MB service finds that the line itself is bad going to the oil cooler. They need to get the part, and when they do so I get a call stating that the oil cooler itself is bad. That part must come from Germany and could take over a week!!! And still they don't think it is the real problem. I'm not sure of that.

Bottom line is, if it is not the problem, than they need to address the engine, and if they can't find it one of the options is to replace the engine.

Under NO circumstances is that acceptable to me. My salesman knows about this and he stated that they could issue me a new car. If it comes down to that it will NOT be another AMG.

I have never had such issues with high end luxury cars before this. I have had 2 Lexus cars that were flawless and 2 E-class cars before this. Needless to say, I am not satisfied, especially for the money I am paying.

Contact MBUSA and get some payment credits. This is a warranty issue and you should not be making your payments when the car has had such a **** poor history

MB would not even consider looking at the problem until 6500 miles attributing the problem to possible engine break-in. Some sort of cash refund is in the works. I had a cash refund with a 2003 E500 that had to go back to the dealer 4 times for the same problem.

I just don't like this. Under no circumstances would I even agree to an engine replacement.
