Warranty Information

I am looking at buying a local E55 and I was wondering how to go about finding out how much of a warranty, if any, is left on the car. Thanks

check for the IN service date.. and add 4 years or

if its an 03 and 04.. chances are that they don't have warranty..

unless it has extended warranty or CPO.

In service date can be obtained by a old dealer invoice or service record.

None unless it is a CPO car or the prior owner purchased an extended warranty. According to CarFax, the car had 52,800 miles back in June of this year. Personally, I would avoid the car if it has no warranty left - there are too many available that do have warranty remaining.

Do a search and you will find a ton of info.

I went through this process a couple of months ago and ended up getting the Mercury Platinum Warranty, as a lot of forum members and my local dealer recommended ... Other forum members went with the chrysler plan ...

Just make sure you stay away from the sketchy companies backed by Risk Retention Groups

Another good idea is to go to your local dealership (the place you will be taking your car in for service) and ask them which aftermarket warranties they sell and recommend

Here's my advice on aftermarket warranties:

Talk to your service/repair shop and ask what companies they accept. Many "well known" aftermarket extended warranties have gone belly-up in recent years.

Buyer beware.

FWIW, it's going to be near impossible to locate a quality aftermarket warranty that covers AMG. Good luck and please share your results.
