11.775 @ 118.69 - Stock, baby
Just got back from Atco with a stack of timeslips all in the 11's.
Best run was an 11.775 @ 118.69 mph (1.710 60' time)
Also ran:
11.801 @ 118.34 (1.716 60' time);
11.805 @ 118.57 (1.713 60' time);
11.806 @ 118.48 (1.712 60' time);
11.808 @ 118.79 (1.720 60' time);
11.817 @ 118.20 (1.716 60' time);
11.824 @ 118.14 (1.719 60' time); and
11.824 @ 118.17 (1.720 60' time)
A bunch more 11.8's (20 runs in the 11.8's). I will post some slips later.
These runs were at various points in the day with various fuel loads. Track was too cold early on, but it warmed up. I hot-lapped to keep it sticky.
According to Ranger's weather station, the temp was 52 - 54 degrees, the DA ranged from neg 200 to neg 300, but the humidity was over 60%. Not too many racers were happy about the weather, even with the negative DA.
I think my car now holds the record for the fastest bone stock E55 on street tires. So that it is perfectly clear - I am running PS2's in 275 width in the rear, so the tire is slightly wider than the 265 standard widths. But I'm pleased.

Is it possible that your car is modified and you are just unaware of it?
It's not like you're with the car 24/7. I'll suggest that someone massaged your car and failed to report it to you. I think some young Mercedes tech slipped in a pair of headers during a scheduled oil change, just to show off his talents to the veteran mechanics...........possible right?
BTW...........Nice!!!

Congratulations! That is incredible time and trap for stock. Safe to say MB never flashed your car. Or did they?

Where are the fastest E63's for a challenge?....doubt they would stand much of a chance against this E55

Thanks, guys. Guys with 10 second vettes were shaking their heads in disbelief. She can move for a heavy 4 door.
My launch technique is still just rolling hard into the throttle (with ESP on) after a nice burnout. The ESP light flickering was the difference between an 11.8 and an 11.9-12.0 run. But if I really tripped the ESP badly, I just backed out of it and coasted to the first turnoff point. On the runs listed above, the car really just deadhooked. I don't think it would have mattered if I ran with ESP on or off. I looked back in my rearview mirror at the guys gathered around the tree during some of my runs, and you could tell they were pretty impressed with how the car just catapulted off the line on street tires with no tire noise at all.
I tried power-braking a couple of times, but that just caused me to spin and trip the ESP.
Once the car got past the first 60 feet, the only work I had to do was to try to keep it in the groove. There may have been a bit of a cross wind at the far end, or maybe I felt a bit of a wiggle from my PS2s running at 25 lbs, but I did have to make corrections to keep it perfectly straight. And that was the difference between an 11.81x and an 11.80x.
On the 11.775 run, I had left to get some gas at a gas station a few miles away. Pulled back into the track and went right to the tree while I strapped my helmet on. It could be that the car had cooled just a tiny bit by going for 3 miles at 60 mph on the highway.
I tried manually shifting a couple of times, but it didn't improve my e/t, so I just let the car shift for me.

Thanks, Chiro.
I have avoided the mod bug for 3 and a half years. Maybe if I have a VERY good year I will think about it. But I see so much back and forth on what works, what's better, etc., that I am a bit confused. And I follow this forum pretty regularly.
I am thinking VERY HARD about the $995 Euroelites ECU upgrade, but I don't know if it will give me any measurable gains at the track. How much faster can I expect to go without headers or a pulley swap?

with those two bolt-ons and a tb you could have a legitimate chance at running 10's!!!
